Medical Aids for the Visually Impaired
The aim of the project is to significantly help to secure spatial orientation and movement for people with visual impairment in an open environment. For this purpose, we make use of modern sensor technology in cooperation with fast computers and user-friendly software.

Using Waste Heat and CO2 for the Production of Medicinal, Aromatic and Spice Plants in Greenhouses
The aim of the project is to design effective use of waste heat and carbon dioxide for growing crops in indoor areas with a high potential of being established on the market. Waste heat energy will be used for the cultivation of a selected range of products during the seasons (autumn, winter, spring) when these plant species are in vegetative rest in an outdoor location, or due to low temperatures, their growth and development is slow. A stimulatory potential of waste carbon dioxide on photosynthesis will be made use of during summer.

Creating a Foundation for a Broader Use of Composite Materials with Fibres (Especially Carbon, Kevlar, Glass) in Technical Practice, Especially in Engineering
Composite materials with fibres are becoming increasingly widespread in technically advanced countries, especially in the manufacture of products for sports, bicycles, motorcycles, automotive and the aerospace industries etc. Their advantage is the possibility of producing the products of demanding shapes and still greater dimensions which have lower weight, the desired strength characteristics, a better resistance to corrosion and various chemical agents etc. as compared with metallic materials.
